Under the protection of Mary, we want to learn to educate ourselves to be firm, free, priestly personalities.

A New Model of Education for the Family

On the Feast of the Assumption, 2003, a group of families gathered with the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary to remember the educational vision set forth by Fr. Josef Kentenich in 1914: “Under the protection of Mary, we want to learn to educate ourselves to be firm, free, priestly personalities.” This day inaugurated the Schoenstatt Collegium of Austin, a partnership of parents working with teachers to provide classroom and home instruction for children in preschool to high school.

Regina Mater organized in 2006 as an independent lay apostolate and 501c3 following the principles of the Schoenstatt Collegium. Today we are hosted at St. Albert the Great in north Austin, and own Maryhill, our property in northeast Travis County. Maryhill is the site for our ecology program and feast day celebrations. We are currently in the permitting process to build our permanent home.

We treasure many traditions from the original Sisters, including German customs for St. Martin and St. Nicholas. Their greatest gift was instilling the virtue of childlikeness before God and practical love for our Blessed Mother. We continue the devotion for the Mother Thrice Admirable through her presence in our school and classroom shrines.
