Our Regina Mater community gathered together for an exciting Mardi Gras celebration just in time to begin our season of Lent. We indulged ourselves with piles upon piles o’ pancakes and a sweet breakfast spread with all the fruity, whip creamy, nutty toppings selection imaginable, in true Fat Tuesday style. Although forty pounds of flapjacks kicked off our evening, the fun did not merely cease with the dinner. Oh, no. We celebrated St. Valentine a day early to match our school schedule. We began the day with reading 1 Corinthians 13 in chapel: If I speak in the tongues of mortals and of angels, but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. We asked the children to fill in the blank: What is love? Love is… The answers popped out around the room. Love is PATIENT! KIND! Not ARROGANT! (What does that mean?)
